Welcome to my website
Here I am in my studio throwing a small mug. Each piece is unique, handmade on a potter’s wheel, painted and glazed with considerable care and fired to 1,265C. The high temperature makes them strong, oven and dishwasher safe.
These pots celebrate the serving and sharing of food. Their decoration reflects my relationship with the natural world, especially the leaves, flowers and insects to be found in our small London garden.
I studied History of Art at the Courtauld Institute and then I taught a history of ceramics course at Croydon College of Art and Design, and it was there that I discovered my own style. Since then I have done extensive research into slips, liquid coloured clays, which can still be seen even under opaque high temperature glazes.
Forthcoming exhibitions:
Landmark Arts Centre, Teddington: I shall be exhibiting in a Pottery Fair at the Landmark Arts Centre on Sunday 26 October. The exhibition will be open 11am to 4pm, and the full address is Landmark Arts Centre, Ferry Road, Teddington, TW11 9NN.
Michael Sobell House, Northwood: On Sarurday 13 December, just before Christmas, I shall be joining other stallholders selling at the Michael Sobell House Winter Market (Gate 3, Mount Vernon Hospital, Northwood, HA6 2RN). The exhibition will be open 10am to 3pm and will raise funds for the hospice.
A selection of blue pots likely to be displayed at the Landmark Arts Centre and the Michael Sobell House can be seen in Gallery 1 and there are more in Gallery 2.
